Iron Apple Release New Training Program:
Health & Food Safety Best Practices for Transportation & Delivery – COVID-19 Edition: Slowing the Spread
April 22, 2020: The Iron Apple team is proud to announce a new training program to support drivers transporting and delivering food products during these critical and uncertain times. Whether you are a long-haul truck driver or a last-mile delivery driver delivering groceries, meal kits or meals directly from a restaurant, keeping yourself, your customers and the food you are transporting safe is your utmost priority. One of the most challenging aspects you are facing is getting the product to the final destination in the safest and fastest way possible.
Since the world has experienced COVID-19, we have learned more so than ever, how important the roles of transporting food can be, and these efforts are noticed across the world. Truck drivers, grocery and food delivery personnel will be interacting with people. Whether it’s at a warehouse, loading dock or delivery location, your risk of exposure during a contagious or infectious disease outbreak increases significantly.
We will be reviewing best practices to protect yourself and reminding you of food safety procedures to ensure you do not contaminate the products we are trying to keep safe. In this module, we will be taking a deeper look into the importance of employee hygiene and personal protective items such as gloves, and the proper procedures you should have in place for transportation environments in order to keep drivers and food safe during transport.
We are committed to providing useful, relevant and up to date software and training services for our essential workers all over the world. This program is currently available through the Iron Apple eClassroom and can be completed online through the web-based training area. (https://ironapple.net/product/covid-19-food-safety/). The training package consists of a short training video, approximately 16 minutes, knowledge testing quiz, along with a certificate of completion when the course is completed. We will be providing digital badges to show that your drivers have completed the training, these can be displayed on your website and email signatures.
Our hope is that this training will be an asset to your team and help you to continue providing services by keeping supplies on the shelves, medical supplies to hospitals, deliver food to homes, and continue to be able to return safely to your family. Please continue to be safe and healthy, we will get this through this together.
