  • FSMA REQUIREMENT: Proper storage of vehicles and transportation equipment when not in use.

    Terminal Module: This Module addresses the requirements for storage of food products, both temperature controlled and ambient. It is a very extensive module and is required if products are shipped out of the state/province that the warehouse is located in, as inter-state/inter-provincial trade.

  • FSMA REQUIREMENT: Transportation operations conducted in a safe manner & competent supervisory personnel.

    Food Safety Training: Consists of 3 Modules (1) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Overview with a strong focus on the Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food Rule, (2) Food Safety for the Transportation Industry, covering standard sanitary transportation practices, HACCP, record keeping, preventive controls and more, and (3) Good Transportation Practices for the Sanitary Shipment of Food.

    Transportation Program Management (Part of the Prerequisite Module): This section provides detailed instructions to establish a food safety policy with goals and objectives, organizational charts outlining company structure and responsibilities, and a detailed overall food safety plan for your company.

  • FSMA REQUIREMENT: Written food safety procedures in place.

  • FSMA REQUIREMENT: Food safety checks if a temperature deviation occurs.

    Commodity Specific Modules: Containing temperature requirements, forms standard operating procedures, logs, corrective actions and more covering all conveyances (including handling equipment, tools, etc.) used to transport frozen/refrigerated/mixed food product.  Module example “Commodity: Refrigerated/Frozen/Mixed Loads (Processed Produce, Dairy, Seafood including Molluscan & Crustaceans”.

  • FSMA REQUIREMENT: Loaders & Receivers to verify the sanitary condition & operating condition of transportation equipment, free of abuse.

    Loading and unloading conveyances and procedures included such as:

    • Conveyance being clean, free from odours and contaminants prior to loading
    • Product being loaded and unloaded in such a way that prevents damage, cross contamination or adulteration of products;
    • Any container that has been damaged or defaced in a manner to suggest that the food safety of products inside could be compromised shall not be loaded into conveyance;
    • Pre Trip Checklist & Conveyance Cleaning Log, Checklists & Training Documents;
    • Reefer Temperature Monitoring Log.
  • FSMA REQUIREMENT: Carrier ensures vehicles and equipment meet shippers specifications, temperature requirements, pre-cool settings and able to demonstrate compliance.

    Standard operating procedures, documents and forms to meet shipper requirements and procedures:

    • Conveyance being clean, free from odours and contaminants;
    • Product being loaded/unloaded and unloaded in such a way that prevents damage, cross contamination or adulteration of products;
    • Pre Trip Checklist & Conveyance Cleaning Log, Checklists & Training Documents;
    • Reefer Temperature Monitoring Log.
  • FSMA REQUIREMENT: Carrier to implement procedures describing compliance with temperature control requirements, bulk vehicle requirements and maintain training records.
